The Clinical Skills and Simulation Center

Arthur KarmenThe Clinical Skills and Simulation Center (CSSC) at New York Medical College (NYMC) is an innovative, experiential training environment that promotes inter-professional collaboration, teaching and assessment of health professions students in an authentic clinical setting. Our learners include medical, dental, physical therapy, and nursing students; resident physicians; fellows; attendings; local healthcare professionals; and students attending regional high school health professions programs. The innovative programs developed at the CSSC have been disseminated locally and nationally, and the center is recognized for its innovative and comprehensive health professional trainings.

2021 marks the Center’s seventh year of service to the NYMC community. More than 1700 learners per year partake in clinical skills training and assessment programs at the CSSC and this number continues to grow steadily.  Simulated experiences bridge the gap from educational to clinical environments using realistic equipment and supplies. Therefore, to meet the growing demands for assessment and certification programs, and to strengthen all health professional training programs at NYMC, WMC Health Network, and other affiliated hospitals and practices, the footprint of the CSSC needs to expand to produce an advanced, clinically relevant environment that will serve as a regional leader in clinical training.

Your gift will help us provide our students and our community partners with the resources needed to become the healthcare professionals of tomorrow.  Thank you for investing in us!
