During move-in days into the residence halls, new students were greeted by enthusiastic volunteers from the SOM Class of 2024 who helped unpack their belongings as they took the first step of their journey to becoming future physicians.

“This is a gorgeous campus and I am beyond excited to learn at this institution with my peers,” said David Zuckerman, SOM Class of 2025.

The 211 students come highly qualified as they were selected out of 15,293 total applicants. The diverse Class of 2025 represents 15 states, 98 undergraduate schools, with 9 international students and is 48 percent female.

“The School of Medicine Class of 2025 has already distinguished themselves as a class with a great personality, sense of humor and willingness to get involved with NYMC and the surrounding communities. They are already proposing new student club organizations and activities for the student body and the campus-wide community. They will be joining the amazing second-, third- and fourth-year medical students, as well as the other amazing students of New York Medical College,” said Anthony M. Sozzo, M.A., M.S.Ed., associate dean for student affairs and director of student financial planning and student activities.

The week culminated in rehearsal for the White Coat Ceremony on August 1 when the SOM Class of 2025 donned their white coats for the first time, ready to officially delve into their medical education on August 2.
